Back to Sippy Downs

Feb 6th 2017
Well here we are once again, house sitting and minding young Oscar for Helen and David while they are off in their caravan to Rye in Victoria, they are holidaying and visiting family there. We are here until March 20th - then who knows where. At least we have aircon and an amazing pool here so very comfy.

Glenview Timeout

Moved here on Feb 1st and had 5nights to ourselves, was great. Needed the break, know the area and surroundings well, having the caravan at the bottom of the section was great as we could give it a bit of an airing. This unit is fully self contained, Queen bed, 2 seater couch, kitchen bench extended for eating at with 2 stools, TV,WIFI it was great. As you can see very comfy, we have a 1 week house stay here again in a weeks time. We will split as we are close by, the family are heading back to NZ, we will be at Sippy Downs less than 5mins away. Even free roaming chooks in the garden, fresh eggs also.

Time to move on

The day had arrived for us to move on to our next place. No not a house sit as we have a gap of 5days, we decided to go to an Airbnb at Glenview on the Sunshine Coast as our next house sit was for Helen and David at Sippy Downs. We used the Airbnb as a fill in giving us some time to ourselves, the unit is fully self contained which was great, free wifi. We have house sat around 3-4 times for the kiwi family that own the Airbnb so thought they can do us a facour by giving us a good price for the 5nights, which they did. It is also the place where we have our caravan stored so a great location. More to add to this story at a later date!!!

Misc

Australia Day was mighty hot.

My favourite flower the amazing Frangipani

Eastern Rosellas feeding on the Sunflower seeds

Izzy - Gypsys friend from next door

We looked after Izzy one day as his owner had been taken to hospital and was not returning home. The family were there sorting, cleaning the house up/out to put it on the market. Izzy escapes as soon as a door is open so he spent a day with us. He was good but he is a yapper so he kept getting told off. He is a rescue dog and he got his name from escaping everyone kept saying (where is he - Izzy)

Lovely garden

Megan and Wally have a nice garden with many plants and a vegie garden although there was not alot in it die to them going away. We did use the herbs, some lettuce and kale and there was beautiful beetroot growing but if I had started to pull them out there would have been too many gaps - lol

Pineapples doing so well

The flowers on this plant belong to the Bat Plant
Amazing flowers and the plant is so healthy

Hot Hot Hot

Yep it was as hot as hell, thank god we had aircon - and we used it.

Birthday drive to Bribie

Took a drive across to Bribie on my birthday, went to the Blue Poo (Terry ans Patricia's haunt) we had a nice seniors lunch. The day was very hot and the ocean looked stunning but we never brought our togs so no swimming for us.

On the note of Bribie we came across another day and met the homeowners for the beautiful home at Banksia Beach (they shouted us lunch at the RSL) we discussed their plans for this year and at the moment it is all up in the air :-( so we are not sure if we are doing the hosue sit or not. They still have the issue of the damp problem with the house and Mike being Mike is waiting to see if the company that built their home is going to come up with the goods and fix the issue. If not it will go to court and then M and M will probably go away. They have also asked if we can do September when they go to Africa on a Safari, and again in January when they do a circumnavigate of AU on a flash boat (it only takes 150 passengers) so as the crow flies re the big house sit we really wanted (5mths) we are waiting in limbo. If it does not happen we will have to look for something else. Currently we are at Sippy Downs until March 20th so have a bit of time.

Young Gypsy

He was not that friendly toward Brian however followed me everywhere, my little shadow. He is a mini Foxie, no bother, eats and sleeps, has a doggie dog so comes and goes when he pleases. He has a huge area to walk, run, play in. He has a nice snug kennel outside with a real comfy pillow it, however every morning he would have pulled the pillow out and it was laying on the concrete, his kennel is under the covered outdoor area so no fear of him being cold or wet, and if he wants he can come inside.

Caboolture 2017

Well thought it was time to update the blog, it is way overdue. There actually is not alot to tell, as we had the big long house sit over Christmas/New Year at Glasshouse Mountains so that took a fair chunk out of the time. From there we went directly same day to another friends home in Caboolture while they headed off to Hobart. Arrived in the morning around 1130, unloaded the car and Brian drove back to Glasshouse Mtns to remain with the pooches x3 until the homeowners arrived home from NZ around 1900pm. By the time Brian arrived back the unpacking was done, stiff put away, bed made and dinner organised. We settled in easily and had an old mini foxie Gypsy to care for. A small older style home comfortable and all we needed for the 2wks gap that we had. We had aircon and thank goodness as it was so bloody hot, wifi, daily newspaper delivered 7days of the week so we were comfy.

House by day
