Belinda & The Boys Visit

In May we had a lovely 3days with Belinda & the boys Kyle & Jonathon, they came for a mini break as it was school holidays. We had some great laughs and it was so lovely to see them again. Hope to catch up when we do the house sit in Calamvale - just south of Brissy in August as we wont be too far from them. Kyle has only just had his 16th birthday - oh my we first met Kyle as did Dad in 2006. He is a delightful young man, loves sport & is doing very well at Kingston College. Adam his stepdad & his mum Belinda are very lvoing but strict parents not only with kyle but also Natalie (Adams daughter age 15yr) and Jonathon 9 next month.

The photos below are from Belinda's 40th birthday in March, we went down and stayed at a motel for the night so that we could enjoy her birthday without having to drive all the way back to the Sunshine Coast. On the Saturday night we all went out for meal at a local pub it was great and the birthday was the following day.

Family BBQ at Woorim

A couple of weekends ago, we met at the van park at Worrim for a BBQ with Terry & Patricia's son Graham his wife Judy and eldest daughter Teagan, we had a great time, chatting,drinking & eating. The sun was out & it was nice & warm as the day before it was a shocker the wind was dreadful.

The other morning when I was sitting out having a cuppa, I was in fits of laughter watching a Pelican trying to catch a Shag - the said shag was poping up and then diving back under the water. The poor old Peli didn't know what to make of it. The Peli would wait to see where the Shag was going to appear Peli did a slow low fly and with heels down for brakes would dive at the shag just as the shag went back under the water, this went of for some time and it was so funny.

The Prom & another Beautiful Sunset

Well not alot has been happening, we are slowly coming to the end of our house sit here at Bribie Island, the home owners arrive back on the 16th August. We are slowly gathering up gear and taking what is not needed back to the caravan, the beds are made in the van as we will be back in Poppy from the 16th until we head to our next house sit at Calamvale just south of Brisbane. While at the van park we will still be able to spend some time with Terry & Patricia - Brian's brother & his wife from Christchurch, they come to Woorim each NZ winter to stay in their van.

Enjoying the Sunshine

Well what else to do when it was such a great day but enjoy the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Before we left here I said to Brian I am going to go for a swim in the pool - and here is the proof. It was a shock to the system until I got in properly however once in it was actually very nice, I think the temp was 24c, but it was also a beautiful sunny day.

The other day I was out moving the hose when I heard what sounded like baby ducks, & there making their way down the canal was a family of Australian Wood Ducks, all very cute.

There is just less than a month now until our homeowners arrive back from their wonderful trip. They are currently enjoying the warmth and wonderful delights of Tuscany. Currently touring through the beautiful, colourful villages of the Cinque Terre.

 
The Cinque Terre (Italian pronunciation: [ˌtʃinkwe ˈtɛrːe]) is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The Cinque Terre area is a very popular tourist destination.
The villages of the Cinque Terre were severely affected by torrential rains which caused floods and mudslides on October 25, 2011. Nine people were confirmed killed by the floods, and damage to the villages, particularly Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare, was extensive.[1]

15 July 2014:  BIRTHDAY GIRL TODAY

Today we went to the Bribie Island Surf Club for lunch with Terry & Patricia as it was her ??th birthday. A great lunch great company, then back to the caravan for a cuppa before we headed home so the Moyse lads could have their grandad naps zzzzz. The surf club gave Patricia a free bottle of wine and table decorated with balloons - even though she said NO balloons.

Canterbury Crusdars Game

Last Saturday night 12th July 2014 was a rugby night must.

We had a great relaxing evening with Terry & Patricia coming down to watch the Crusadars game, we had the famous Beefys pies, & Patricia brought along a yummy chocolate/caramel Barvarian cheesecake yep it was yummy.

The Deck - Pacific Harbour Golf Course

It sure was a lovely day to be in the sun & fresh air, we strolled the grounds as it was such a great day to be out walking.

Thursday 10th July

Last week Brian & I went to the Pacific Harbour Golf course so that Brian could have some practise on the driving range - I had to go along to take videos of his swing. With the golf balls all hit we made our way to The Decks cafe where we shared a piece of quiche & a nice coffee.
