Sunday 20th September:
Bahrs Scrub is a
rural/residential locality 4 km south-west of Beenleigh. It is
thought to have been named after a German settler, Carl Wilhelm Bahr
(born 1840) or his son, Wilhelm Bahr (1860-1941).
The eastern boundary of Bahrs Scrub is
the Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road, which adjoins the suburbs of Windaroo
and Mount Warren Park. The Windaroo Creek, a tributary flowing east
into the Albert River, has its headwaters in Bahrs Scrub. Urban
development has spread from Windaroo into this part of Bahrs Scrub.
Further west in Bahrs Scrub there are rural/residential acreages,
some with remnant rainforest scrub. The Buccan Conservation Park is
just beyond Bahrs Scrub's western boundary. In 2008 Bahrs Scrub was
transferred from Gold Coast to Logan City Council.
Bahrs Scrub's census populations
have been:
In 2006 there were 1150 people living
here.
In 2011 there were 1512 people living
here.
This house sit is lovely, we have been so blessed with many lovely homes, views and pets. We are here until mid October. The home owners and some friends have gone to Hawaii and are then doing a cruise back into Sydney arrived back on the 15th October. So we have quiet a while here which is nice. From here we head further inland to Jimboomba where we will be house sitting from October the 15th until October 27th - but that's another story.
While here we have two very cute dogs to care for, no lawns to do and if need be only need to water some plants, other than that it's just mind the home and animals. The dogs are a Maltese - Shitzu names Miss Lucy, and a Labradoodle named Chad, both very well behaved and we don't even have to walk them as they have such a huge property to run around on - bonus.
