There Is Even A Fairy Grotto!!!

Yep here is the proof, I found it tucked away down under the bushes at the bottom of the section.

The Beautiful Coloured Lorikeets

Miss Lucy and Chad

Wednesday 23rd:

We have no issues with the dogs missing their owners, they are very lively and cute, as long as they are fed there is no issue.

Meet Miss Lucy - she's the boss OMG!!!!!

Ahhhhhhhh nothing like a bot of sun on the face

And This Is Handsome Mr Chad

Plants and Grounds

The grounds are lovely many shrubs and natives, so we get alot of bird life the Lorikeets are loving the Grevillea's at the moment as they are in full flower. One way the property looks out to Mt Tambourine and Beaudesert and the other way toward Brisbane, at night it looks like fairy land with all the lights twinkling.

These are Daytura plant flowers - very toxic!!!!
I photographed these one day and then the next day

They were Salmon in color, very pretty but
very very toxic.

Off To Bahrs Scrub

Sunday 20th September:

Bahrs Scrub is a rural/residential locality 4 km south-west of Beenleigh. It is thought to have been named after a German settler, Carl Wilhelm Bahr (born 1840) or his son, Wilhelm Bahr (1860-1941).
The eastern boundary of Bahrs Scrub is the Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road, which adjoins the suburbs of Windaroo and Mount Warren Park. The Windaroo Creek, a tributary flowing east into the Albert River, has its headwaters in Bahrs Scrub. Urban development has spread from Windaroo into this part of Bahrs Scrub. Further west in Bahrs Scrub there are rural/residential acreages, some with remnant rainforest scrub. The Buccan Conservation Park is just beyond Bahrs Scrub's western boundary. In 2008 Bahrs Scrub was transferred from Gold Coast to Logan City Council.
Bahrs Scrub's census populations have been:
In 2006 there were 1150 people living here.
In 2011 there were 1512 people living here.

This house sit is lovely, we have been so blessed with many lovely homes, views and pets. We are here until mid October. The home owners and some friends have gone to Hawaii and are then doing a cruise back into Sydney arrived back on the 15th October. So we have quiet a while here which is nice. From here we head further inland to Jimboomba where we will be house sitting from October the 15th until October 27th - but that's another story.
While here we have two very cute dogs to care for, no lawns to do and if need be only need to water some plants, other than that it's just mind the home and animals. The dogs are a Maltese - Shitzu names Miss Lucy, and a Labradoodle named Chad, both very well behaved and we don't even have to walk them as they have such a huge property to run around on - bonus.

Worrim For A Week

September  13th:

Saw us heading back to Worrim for a break, our next house sit starts on September 20th at Bahrs Scrub, however that's another story. The Maleny homeowners flight arrived into Brisbane International early from Singapore so we thought they would be home around 0900am - WRONG they duely arrived bang on 7.45am, we boiled the jug thinking we would have a cuppa with them before heading to Bribie to pick up Poppy from the storage area and head to the van park - again WRONG. We filled the homeowners in on a couple of things telling them there was milk, fruit, tomatoes etc in the fridge before saying farewell - they did ask if we would be available again next year for 6wks, we said as long as it does not clash with any other house sits we would be happy to help them out. We bade farewell to the chooks,Mr Kitty and Harvey the dog also the owners before heading down the range and back to Bribie. Hmmmmmmmmmm too early to go to the van park so we called into the coffee shop at the Bribie Shopping centre and had a coffee and shared Raisin toast. By the time we had finished this we went and collected poppy uncovered her from her robe and headed to the van park arriving at 1015am - to be told,  Oh you're early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we had requested a site and were told this was unavailable grrrrrrrrrrr we were allocated another one it was ok other than the bloody pods dropping on the van roof at night time, however we did get alot of sun so that was good.  We were set up in no time and soon settled in for our week at Worrim. Bloody hell Friday and Saturday saw the droves of school holiday makers - kids galore and we had a screamer behind us - thank god we left on  Sunday 20th.

Below shows our allocated spot not ideal but ok!!!

Our Final Day At Maleny

12 September 2015:

Well the washing is all done, dry and what needed ironing has been ironed. This is our final day/night here, we will have an early start in the morning as the home owners flight is supposed to arrive into Brisbane (if on time) at 6.15am - so we are kind of hopeing it will be late. They think they will be arriving home around 8.00qm but I cann't see it as Sunday mornings at Brisbane are back for arrivals they all seem to arrive at the same time causing huge volumes of passengers, then they have to drive the 1.25hr north to Maleny. We are almost packed and only have the last minute cleaning and packing to do later tonight. It is once again misty showers here again today and we have had the fire going most of the day. We put Harvey Drizabone dog coat on him today as he spends most of the day lying on the landing and its been showery so he's nice and dry. Heading to Worrim and back to the caravan for a week so will catch you from there.

Hahahahaha Harvey Look At Me By The Fire

Hehehehe Look At Me In my Drizabone Coat
That Bloody Cat - I'm Not Allowed Inside!!!!!!!!

11 September 2015

Only 1 more day here

Friday 11th September:

A very showery, cool day today no sun very grey and overcast, so we have the fire going it is devine. I have done all the vacuming and washed all the floors so don't have to do a big clean tomorrow. The homeowners arrive home Sunday morning. I made a card for them as a thank you, used some of the photos from their own surroundings, Harvey the dog, Mr Kitty the cat and a tree from the property. We think they are "Greenies" there are NO cleaning products at all in the place, the dishcloths if that is what you call them are hand knitted - I bought some cheap chux cloths and some bleach. They have all this Eco /Greenie dish detergent that does not even foam and the dishwasher powder is the same bloody useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I washed a couple of tea towels and hand towels to use as theirs stunk sour yukkkkkkky, now we are using the ones I washed with my own washing powder, we have our own towels and sheets, pillow cases etc.

Cosy And Warm Here Today It's Wet Outside

Maleny Misc

There are a few large trees on the property and they are pretty impressive, the large gum tree in the last photo has around 3 different bird species nesting in the old holes where branches have been removed, we see them coming and going. We have seen a pair of King Parrots however not close enough to take a photo so we hope we get a chance to see them again. The Old Bush Turkey hangs around all day long, the dog and cat don't worry about them it was in the chook pen yesterday flew in and flew out again.

Maleny cont

From these photos you can see how high up the house is and the size of the land, it is lovely sitting on the verandah early in the morning having breakfast out there. Harvey the dog sleeps in the garage and comes and suns himself on the landing at the top of the steps.

As There Is Alot Of Food Around There Are Also Alot Of Kookaburra's - Love Them
