Graham is an avid bird breeder, of Goldian Finches - they are very colourful. There are two types
Red headed & Black headed there are also some lovely singing canaries.

The house has 4 bedrooms, bathroom, separate loo,laundry. There is a very formal dining room & lounge, however we just use the everyday family room for eating & watching TV.

The grounds here are very beautiful with some gorgeous plants & hanging pots, there is even a
lovely pink Sasanqua Camelia growning happily in a pot. Will take a photo when the flower is out.

Heading to Calamvale

Sunday August 31st:

Well our day had arrived as we were to farewell Terry & Patricia at the van park as we headed toward our next house sit down at Brisbane South - Calamvale. Sunday August 31st dawned fine & sunny as we needed to pack up the last remaining gear, we certainly did not want rain as we had to store it all away inside the van while it is at the storage area at Woorim for 2wks. We farewelled the Moyse Kampong around 1030 & headed to the storage compound while we are at Calamvale. We had a great drive down to Brisbane & being a Sunday the traffic was also in our favour, most traffic was heading north. We arrived at the property around 1230pm & were gladly greeted by the big woofa - Jedda.

Letting ourselves into the property we duly went to the back slider where Brian very cunningly had some doggie treats in his hand which Jedda smelt with great enthusiasm & scoffed them down in no time at all - with the greeting over we proceeded to empty the car & settle in for our stay. The house is a nice colonial style home in a very affluent area,there is a nice covered outdoor area and gardens, lots of room to sit in the sun & enjoy the birds singing in the aviary.The home-ownerr is a breeder of Gouldian Finches, they are very colourful birds & currently there are babies in boxes & alot of eggs still to hatch along with some Quail due to hatch also.

9 Holes Caddy

Wednesday the 13th August was a lovely day & Brian suggested he would go to the Golf Course and play 9 holes. Terry was going to go with him but they had friends from NZ - Governor's Bay actually

Zephyr Tce (small world eh) therefore he could not go. I suggested to Brian that I come & caddy for him. He promptly said ok - we headed off to the course around 2.00pm and there was no one there, it was a great day weather perfect, & no wind. Brian worked it out that we walked almost 4kms - great exercise & our legs let us know that evening that they were tired, we slept like babies.

Beach Stroll

We are very close to the beach here at Worrim, and as there had been rough seas we decided to head off for a walk. You can see how the tide has made a bit of a drop off from the high tides.

Fire Fire Fire

On  Monday night some idiot lit a fire not too far from the van park, it quickly got out of control helped by the very windy conditions. We had to deal with dreadful smoke for a couple of days and also helicopters trying to put it out.

Vietnam Vets Parade

Monday arvo I offered to be the designated driver, taking Terry,Brian & Patricia to the Bribie RSL. It was Vietnam Vets day and parade at 1600 in the arvo, after the parade Terry,Brian & I went to the service at the Memorial gardens while Patricia waited for us over at the RSL she was minding the pokies  LOL.

Back to Worrim

Saturday 23 August:

Hi all we have are back at Worrim in the caravan after collecting the home owners last Saturday morning from Brisbane Airport the 16th. It was an early start up at 5.00 as we had to do the final packing of our belongings, remake the bed, load our car and fire up Mike's big 4x4 and drive to the airport. Their flight was due in at 7.05am & when Brian checked their arrival time we find they were arriving early so it was a bit of a rush to get organised and head off. It was teaming with rain typical, arrived at the service centre just outside the airport and waited for Mike & Margarets ph call to advise they were ready to be collected. We found them easy enough loaded the 4x4 with Chris driving the beast and headed back to Banksia Beach - The Promontory, had a cuppa with them, loaded our tribby and headed back to the van park at Worrim, yep still pouring with rain. We moved the caravan on the Friday thankfully it was fine so we had it all set up which was great. With the rain coming down we loaded everything into the awning and left it there covered in the dry until we could resort the gear. Sunday we woke to a nice sunny day & we set to sort our gear & put it all away. We are in the van park for around 16days until we head to our next house sit at Calamvale just south of Brisbane, we leave here on the 31st August. The van will go back into storage here for just over a week before we collect the old girl again and head back to Caloundra for our next house sit.  We are in the same spot as last time in May when we stayed here. Its currently pouring with rain and has not let up started Thursday night and its still raining, about 3days ago we were dealing with smoke and helicopters as some moron had lit a fire which got out of control sparked by the wind, now we have all the rain. As you can see we have the big grey Tarp over the top which keeps us nice & dry, it was great Terry being there to help Brian get it up over the top as it's just a bit too high for me to pull the tarp up & over.You can see the green side wall tarp that I made to slide into the awning channel, it keeps us dry which is the main thing.
