Off to Bribie once again

We left our house sit and the lovely Jedda at Calamvale on the 11th September made our way back to Bribie Island, where we had booked a very basic cabin for 3nights rather than bring the van out of storage and set up for the 3nights. Had a great run from Brissy south to Bribie arriving there around 1230 in time for lunch, went to check in to be told we had been upgraded to one of their Oceania Suites - yes thank you we will take that all for the same price as the basic cabin. We had a nice 3 days back here just relaxing & going for a couple of walks to the beach and the Greek Church at the back of the van park, it certainly had changed since we went there last to watch the Greek Dancing at the Paniyiri festival a couple of years ago. On Sunday 14th we leave Bribie with the caravan and head once more back to Sunseeker Village for 5nights before going to our next house sit literally over the hill at Little Mountain. We will pop back down to Calamvale to see Graham Maria and Miss Jedda when we do the house sit at Morayfield in November, they would like us to go down and have lunch with them, they also would like us to house sit again next year when they go to Europe however it will all depend where we are? if we are unable to do it we have a friend who will do it instead so at least they can still go away and know their home and beloved pet is well cared for.

Farewell Calamvale

These are the final pics we will have of our stay at Calmavale. A few misc ones.

I sat this afternoon & watched a male (Blue) female (small Brown) Fairy Wren, they have a nest in the bushes at the corner of the front section, such very tiny birds & very busy gathering food for the young.

And finally a few plants the Orange Clivia & a Peace Lily, & a pretty daisy in a hanging basket.

Well that will be all for around a week, once we are at Little Mountain we will post some more pics.

Final Day at Calamvale

Wednesday 10th September:

This morning we took Jedda for a walk to the park, she was very well behaved and came back exhausted, she had a big drink & flopped down to sleep. While she was resting Brian & I went & did a small amount of shopping, getting bread,milk & eggs for Graham & Maria arriving home tomorrow I also picked up a small bunch of flowers for Maria & we have a nice card for them on their return. Brian has mowed the lawns for Graham & I have done all the washing,vacumed & dusted & tonight have steam moped the floors, the place is all nice and clean for them tomorrow. I took a few misc photos todays being our last day. We have really enjoyed it here as it is so central and easy to find your way around.
Tomorrow we head back to Bribie for 3nights before heading to Caloundra until Friday 19th when we will move to our next house sit, we will be at Little Mountain until the end of October.

Catch up with an old Auckland Workmate.

Monday September 7th:

Today we went off to Jimboomba to catch up once again with an old workmate that I worked with me at

Soar Printing in Auckland NZ. Margaret & I have always kept in touch. Margaret & her husband Ron lived

in Mangere when in NZ., they also lived in Adelaide where Margaret developed really bad Asthma & they were advised to get away from Adelaide, they built a unit at Hope Island before heading to Jimboomba. Margaret has recently been unwell with a bad flu so we decided we would head over to see them & have lunch. It was a great day although the weather was overcast & chilly, however it didn't stop us sitting outside under the heater chatting,drinking tea/coffee no alcohol touched our lips. Where we are staying at Calamvale we are only about 45mins from there, Jimboomba is fairly spread out & is a semi rural area. They know exactly where Dale used to live,infact one of their daughters knows Dale & they knew he is back in NZ.

We left Jimboomba to head back to Calamvale around 3.00 and arrived back about 3.45 so a pretty good run. Once we got onto the Lindsay HWay just around the corner from where we are staying it was a direct run out stay on the HWay all the way until we drove through Jimboomba and Ron & Marg's, road was on the RHSide a short drive through some scrubby bush and we were there they have 3 lots - 204 - 206 Leopard Wood. A great day with great friends lots of laughs and fun.

Father's Day

Sunday September 7th:

Yep it's father's day again, Brian had text's from all the girls & we managed to chat with Yasmine,Adam & little Rory which was great. We had a nice lazy day however we had a nice visit earlier in the day from Belinda (Kyles mum) and young Jono. Jono had just turned 9 a week ago so we were able to give him his present. They left around midday after we had chatted and had coffee out the back, was great to see them. the rest of the afternoon was pretty lazy updating the blog & checking emails etc. I also had a great chat with Ang & said hi to Martin, always love chatting to the family. we have not managed to catch up with Kyle or the rest of the family as this house sit only gave us one weekend. Adam (Belinda's husband) & Kyle were away doing the Bridge to Brisbane run & the house sit has sort of clashed with them all at work during the week and the kids at school, it was great catching up with Belinda. Kyle was presented his medal for the Kokoda Challange. He was one in a team of 4 from his school Kingston College and they won, the challange was run through the night. Kyle is an amazing young man and is very sports minded. Brian had a ring from Caroline also this evening which was nice.

A trip back cont

Just some of the units and lakes that is now set up behind Sanctuary Gardens. Where those lakes are now was all just an over grown plot of land used by the council - we hardly recognised it.

Friday September 6th:

Saw us head to the Gold Coast to see some very special friends Ann & Mick Lavin. Ann & Mick live near our old haunt Sanctuary Cove, they have recently moved to a brand new appartment not far from Harbour Town, a huge area and growing very fast. We had a lovely lunch with them and after lunch Mick took us for a drive back to see how Sancturay Cove and the surrounds had grown and expanded - we didnt recognise it at all. Caseys Road where we lived at Sanctuary Gardens is now blocked off and the area of land that ran along behind Sanctuary Gardens is now all new housing & appartments with a very flash name "The Address" ummmm go figure that one out. We headed back to Harbour Town where we had a nice coffee at coffee club with Ann & Mick then walked around for around 15mins before it was decided that it was too cold to walk any more so a hasty retreat back to Ann & Micks and a bit more chatter before we decided it was time to head back to Calamvale. We arrived back around 1710 had a great run on the MWay back way better than going down. Was great to be back in our old area one we really did like.

The guys went for a walk & when Ann & I looked over the balconey here they were sitting trying out the sun lounges by the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where we once lived the entrance to "Sanctuary Gardens" lovely complex safe & secure, beautiful grounds, pool,gym, we moved from here up to the Sunshine Coast.

Jedda follows Brian where ever he goes, however if I walk outside or past her she doesn't bother
but if Brian moves her eyes are on him. She is a beautiful dog (Neapolitan Mastiff)
