BBQ Catch Up With Friends

Saturday 4th October

We caught up with the rest of our group and had a BBQ. There are usually 6 of us that get together at each other's for a meal and or BBQ - we each bring food to share makes it much easier. We had the BBQ at Helen and David Waldron's and Sonny and Bronwen Johns all of us Kiwis. It was a great night lots of laughter the 3 guys in one room with TV the 3 girls in another room with TV which we turned off as the guys had their telly loud enough for us to hear. We were laughing and chatting and didn't really need telly anyway - the guys kept telling us to be quiet. It was a fun night and the next one will be at Morayfield when we do our next house sit, there is a pool there and a huge section so we can laugh all we like. (in fact we are heading down to Morayfield on the 19th Oct as the home owners have asked us down for lunch and to meet their family and friends - these home owners leave on the 26th October for their holiday.

Nambour Golf Course

Wednesday 1st October

Brian decided after being home since his surgery which went ok, however once again it wasn't that we wanted to hear, now awaiting CT scan appointment all made as is surgeons and Dr so waiting game now. Anyway it was a beautiful day and Brian decided he wanted to get outta the 4 walls and go for a drive - he requested Nambour Golf Course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so off we went, heading north from Little Mountain up the highway about 25mins from here. The golf course is in a lovely location overlooking the valley we didn't go far as Brian was not able to walk very far. We found the clubhouse and sat and had a coffee overlooking the valley - see photo. After sometime it was once again time to head home to Little Mountain - it certainly made a nice change.  And if you go any day after 1400 it will only cost you $15 for 18holes.

There is a bird feeder out the front of the house and we regularly have birds coming to feed, the other morning I managed to get some photos of the Lorikeets having a feed. I was there just as an imposter was  trying to get in on their feed (it was a noisey old miner bird caught in the act) The photos of the pineapples show the 2  new pineapples emerging, and the other 2 pineapples doing very well. There is also a beautiful Peace Lily in flower.

A lazy kinda day

Wednesday 24th September:

I decided this morning I was going to vacum,do the washingand wash the floors - managed to get a load of washing done then the power went off, so no vacuming or more washing was done due to a power outage that would be off for at least 4-5hrs. Hmmmmmmm a nice relaxing morning to say the least. I sat and watched a Kookaburra sitting up in the tree over the fence, the power eventually coming back on around 3.00pm - however the washing machine would not do the same, appears the outage had blown the mother board in the machine. We rang the home owners son who came and had a look after work he had already contacted his parents who had arranged to have a new washing machine delivered tomorrow Thursday 25th, it is cheaper to get a new one rather than get the mother board replaced - so it all worked out fine.

Picnic at the Beach

Tuesday 23rd September

It was such a nice day we packed a picnic lunch and headed down to the Caloundra foreshore, as it is school holidays we were sure it would be busy in the car park so we headed around to the far end of Happy Valley, found a park no probs then the next thing to find was a table, easier said than done - I saw a table that had an elderly man sitting there eating a sandwich and I said to Brian lets go ask him if we can use the other end of the table as I was certain he would be gone once the sandwich was also gone - and this he did so we had it to ourselves. It was a nice day sunny warm and the surf was good so we sat and watched the board surfers for a while before heading back to the house.

Dave and Christine have this beautiful Orchid growing in a hanging pot and Dave has waited all year for it to flower - and it is while they are away, I will take some photos and get them printed for them and place in a card when we leave - it is gorgeous.

Below 2 photos is of a friendly little Butcher Bird, these look like small Magpies, however these little birds sing beautifully.

The house is very nice, modern and again lovely grounds. The street is immaculate I would say not a rental in the street which makes a change. A few photos below of our latest house sit.

And once again back to Sunseeker Village

Well the morning of departure from Sunseeker had arrived, we moved out of there on the morning of Friday 19th and headed over the hill to Cullen Drive. We left Sunseeker around 1100am after saying our goodbyes to the friends we had made there whilst there for the 5mths previous. With the farewells over it was off to the house. We had to make sure we didn't arrive too early as we needed to ensure the home-owners had left for their trip as we needed to put our caravan where they park their one. We arrived after approx 5min drive up the hill then down the hill to the house manage to get Poppy parked after Brian had some tricky manoeuvring to do to get the old girl onto her spot for the next 6wks. With Poppy parked and the food transferred inside to the fridge the jug was on for our cuppa. We spent the remainder of the day taking out only what was required inside. While we have Poppy here with us it gives us a good chance to do some cleaning, washing all the curtains, bedding etc, as when we leave here Poppy will go into storage where our furniture is and she will be there until we need her next which will be next year around April 2015. This will be our last stay at Sunseeker they have put the price up to that of other van parks around which have all the conviences, like camp kitchens etc which Sunseeker does not the only good thing about it there is the pool, however most van parks have pools. Also as we belong to most of the big chain van parks we also get a discount which brings the price down to less than Sunseeker and they give NO discount and it's also very very noisy and crazy to get out of now as they have blocked the road off.
