August 17th

Happy 21st Birthday Ian David, sure hope you had a great day and a good night out with the family and friends for dinner.
Today Yasmine Rory and I drove down to Movieworld on the Gold Coast only about 25mins drive south, it was a brilliant day weather amazing blue sky and warm. No parking hassles, no huge crowds or long lines for the rides. We were there all day and it was just fantastic. One that I think Rory will remember and talk about for a while. Tomorrow is fishing at Jacobs Well - hope we catch something.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jedda Walkies

This big girl loves her walks, we took her for a few walks which Rory loved as we went along to the small lake at the end of the park. Jedda had her new harness on which gave us much better control until a small white ball of fluff yapped and Jedda was off, running over Yas's foot and wrenching my
finger so bad I could not bend or straighten it - no not broken just brusied and given a bloody good
pull. We walked back home where she flaked out on the tiles outside and settled down for a sleep.

Sunday 16th

The morning was lovely when we headed off to the Runcorn train station, I picked a Sunday to head into Brisbane knowing that the train would not be crowded and or the train station carpark. We arrived in time to purchase tickets for Yas and Rory from the machine as Brian and I both have Go Cards which are preloaded cards for our fares which we just tap on and tap off. The cost of our fares was way cheaper than running the car and paying for parking in the city we will definately be using these again. When we are at Bahrs Scrub we will head down to the Gold Coast for a day. We arrived into Brisbane with heaps of time to spare and walked along South Bank, passing the Beach Pool, Big Wheel and the Nepalese Temple. We found the Museum cafe and had a cuppa and bite to eat before heading inside our time for the Dinosaur Discovery was 1.00pm but we were there early so were allowed in. It was an amazing display with great sound effects. Once we had seen everything we walked through various displays at the museum which was alot of fun before making our way to the South Brisbane train station and heading back to Calamvale. A great fun day and the first time Rory had been on a real train.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fishing at Redland Bay

We went for a drive to Redland Bay a lovely area about 30mins from Calamvale, took the fishing rod so Rory could have a bit of a fish, however the tide was out but he still had a great time. We had lunch at the Pelican Cafe near the boat ramp. A great day and a very tired boy who fell asleep on the way home, must have been all the fun and fresh sea air -  hahaha.

Housesitting at Calamvale

August 12th

Our house sit here is fast coming to an end at the beginning of Sept actually. However since being here we have had some nice weather and have really enjoyed being back in shorts and tee shirts and loving the warmer weather. We have been taking Jedda for some good walks which she really loves.
Yasmine and Rory came over for a week and it has been great seeing them, they go home this Wednesday  - where has week gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
