Grey Nomads in our poptop caravan, based at Caloundra but travelling, doing some house sits which still allows us to travel and see the country without always taking the van.

Onward to Beerwah Sportsground
Headed out to the Beerwah Sports Ground for a week in the caravan until our next house sit at Marcoola came up. At first the weather was amazing very warm and humid, thankfully there was a local swimming pool next door that we could use, the Sports Ground also gave us a double voucher for a free swim - bonus. $20 a night with power and town water, great showers plenty of hot water. Sports practise twice a week Tuesday and Thursday very busy always a great turnout. We also had the Black Dog Motorcycle run turn up the first Sunday we were there. Black Dog are a fundraising club that raise awareness of Depression and Suicide. There were over 100 bikes, the sports ground put on a BBQ for them an amazing sight with all the bikes old and young, big and small all makes and models. Another fundraiser "Jammin for Jason" was put on for a young local fellow who died from an Asthma attack leaving a wife and 4 young kiddies, the fundraiser for this was held last Saturday all proceeds from the day went to the family. They had stalls and a womens Rugby team the local Beerwah Bulldogs and another team from Brisbane, they had a couple of bands playing, the club kitchen was open for the most amazing hamburgers, coffee, etc and also the bar. It all ended about 1000pm so was not a noisy night other then the bloody trains heading in and out of Brisbane. Below photos show our spot in the dry and in the wet, thankfully we were on a huge concrete pad, so no mess inside for us. The only downfall with that was there was no shade, however when the weather turned which it did for 5days pouring rain and mud we did not bother about shade - lol. You can see how wet it had been by the potholes full of water. It can become very busy with caravanner's, RVs etc, there was also a local caravan club staying they were there for 5nights and thought they owned the whole bloody area. We are booked back in here for 3nights at Easter before we head to Bribie for our long house sit we do each year, heading back to Bribie on the 18th April.
